| Advertising Agencies Overview
HAT holds the archives for many of the most influential UK agencies of the past and present. Through them the historical development of advertising copy, style and content can be understood and campaigns for thousands of brands can be tracked chronologically across different agency collections. R F White, operating in London from c.1800, is the oldest agency collection at HAT with Collett Dickenson Pearce (CDP) possibly providing some of the most dynamic and creative work of the late 20th century (1960-2002). Ogilvy & Mather, S H Benson, Foote Cone & Belding, J Walter Thompson, Leo Burnett, Bates UK, Saatchi and Saatchi and DDB London are just a few of the other major companies represented at HAT.
Advertising agency collections can include poster, press and magazine proofs, presentation boards and artwork, client brand and campaign research, job files, TV commercials, scripts, annual reports, promotional brochures, year books, staff and company magazines, photographs and internal correspondence.
HAT also maintains a comprehensive library of UK agency brochures and publications. Please contact enquiries@hatads.org.uk if the agency you are researching is not listed on our web site.
