| JUNE CALLS IT A DAY
June Searby has retired from HAT, after nine years’ loyal and conscientious work as a research assistant. She has helped to complete exceptional tasks such as the sorting and labelling of the J Walter Thompson historical print collection and more recently, The Dairy Council collection, re-organising materials within the storage boxes and labelling these to allow easier reference for researchers.
June has a penchant for artistic style and haute couture and her experienced eye has sought out and selected hundreds of images from the various early collections, which she has then categorised by brand and filed for research purposes.
June’s plain speaking approach to life has enlivened tea break chat and many staff meetings and ensured that all matters brought up by the HAT team have been given an airing and discussed. June has always asserted the importance of ongoing collections digitisation and this view, shared by us all, will be much in our minds as we push forward into 2010 to make our marvellous material available to academic and student researchers and the advertising and marketing industry.
We wish June a very healthy and happy retirement and thank her most sincerely for all her hard work and commitment to HAT.
