Since HAT’s foundation in 1976, HAT Patrons have established a strong tradition in supporting its mission to promote learning and creative excellence by preserving and celebrating the advertising heritage of the UK. In doing so, they have not only helped HAT to amass the largest archive of British advertising in the world but enabled countless numbers of researchers to benefit from the richness of its content.
HAT’s Patrons are usually senior members of the advertising, marketing, retail, public relations, and media industries – both current practitioners and those now enjoying the rewards of the industry in retirement. They are individuals who all share the wish to ‘give something back’.
Keeping our collections relevant and accessible to new generations of industry researchers as well as academics and enthusiasts is our core activity – but it is a costly business. Our much-valued Patrons provide vital funds that enable us to respond to the research needs and new digital technologies of the 21st century. This includes keeping records up to date and developing vital services such as our public research facilities, online e-learning resources, website image and TV commercial galleries and the development of HAT’s online archive collections catalogue (2016).
To date, Patrons have made donations ranging between £1000 and £10,000. Donations can be made as a ‘one-off’ payment or on regular annual basis if so desired. Donations may be offset against personal taxation at the higher rate and HAT may also claim tax relief if a Gift Aid form is completed.
Patron’s names are displayed in the reception area of HAT Archive & Study Centre, on HAT’s website, in HAT’s annual report and in our regular e-newsletter bulletins. Patrons also receive HAT’s regular news bulletins.
You can make a real difference by joining this prestigious group of key supporters. If you would like to become a HAT Patron please complete and submit a HAT Gift-Aid form.
You can donate online or post your cheque, made out to THE HISTORY OF ADVERTISING TRUST, at 12 Raveningham Centre, Raveningham Norwich, Norfolk, NR14 6NU
