Tom Knox

Chair of Trustees


Tom was educated at Radley College and University College Oxford where he read English Literature. After a brief dalliance with a legal career Tom started working in advertising in 1987 at Delaney Fletcher Delaney.

Following Bozell's acquisition of DFD Tom soon relocated to the New York offices where he
worked as an Account Manager.

Tom returned to AMV/BBDO in London and then worked as an Account Director at Chiat/Day London. In 1995 Tom returned to Delaney Fletcher Delaney (by now DFSD/Bozell) as Head of Account Management.

In 2000 Tom was part of the team that founded Delaney Lund Knox Warren, which prior to the merger with Lowe and Partners in 2010, grew to become the largest non-network agency in the UK.

In 2005 DLKW was sold to Creston PLC and in 2010 DLKW was acquired by Lowe and Partners (part of the Interpublic Group of Companies) and the management team to create DLKW Lowe.
In 2015 Lowe merged globally with Mullen to form MullenLowe.
Tom became Chairman of MullenLowe London and his clients there include the Department of Health, with whom Knox spearheaded the government's response to COVID-19 during the pandemic.

In March 2015 he became IPA President for a two year term. He is a Fellow of the IPA, sits on its Council and on its Finance committee.
