Definitions
The Materials: This means all or any information, artwork, text, video, audio, animation or picture files contained and comprised in the Web site; references to the Materials shall mean the whole or any part thereof.
HAT: This means The History of Advertising Trust
Trademarks: This term includes all logos, shields and service marks.
Acceptance
These Terms of Use refer only to The History of Advertising Trust (known as HAT) web site located at www.hatads.org.uk, (called the "Site" in this statement) and any not to any other web sites hosted by HAT's web site or linked to it. By using the Site you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. We reserve the right to amend these Terms of Use from time to time without notice to you and you agree to be bound by any such changes in your subsequent use of the Site.
The agreement between you "the User" and The History of Advertising Trust is formed on the basis of these Terms of Use (the "Agreement") shall terminate immediately if you breach these Terms of Use. HAT reserves the right to terminate this Agreement at any time. The termination of this Agreement or your right to use the Site is without prejudice to any rights that HAT may have against you in respect of such breach.
Intellectual Property Rights
All materials available on the Site (the "Materials") - including but not limited to text, video, data, audio clips, designs, logos, illustrations and still images - are protected by copyright, trademark, database and other intellectual property and proprietary rights and must not be used for any purpose other than educational, informational and non-commercial viewing purposes.
Materials from the Site are available for your own personal and private study and research. To use the Materials otherwise, for example for any commercial purpose or advantage, requires specific written permission from HAT and/or the original copyright holder/s. The images, audio and audio-visual material available via HAT’s online catalogue are for reference purposes only and may not be reproduced without prior permission from HAT. HAT does not hold the copyright in any of this material and it is your responsibility to satisfy yourself that all necessary rights or consents, which may be required for reproduction, are obtained.
Copies of images and audio-visual material in digital and other formats are available on application to the email address below (item 6) and charged according to our Services Price List. HAT would like to hear from any intellectual property rights owners who are not properly identified on the Site so that we may make the necessary corrections and display the appropriate notices.
Disclaimers
This Site may contain material which some people may find offensive. HAT would like to stress that it has no intention of causing any offence and suggests that people who find material contained on the Site offensive should either not view the material in question or should not visit the Site. HAT bears no responsibility for any offence that may be caused by people viewing the Site.
HAT makes no promise that the Site will meet your requirements or that the Site will be uninterrupted or error free.

As a convenience to users of the Site, the Site includes links to other web sites or material which are beyond its control. HAT is not responsible for content on the Internet or World Wide Web pages outside the Site.
General
English law shall apply to these terms, notwithstanding the jurisdiction where you are based. You irrevocably agree that the courts of England shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute which may arise out of, under, or in connection with these terms and for those purposes irrevocably submit all disputes to the jurisdiction of the English courts. The place of performance shall be England. HAT makes no warranty or guarantee that the Site or information available over it complies with laws other than those of England.
