Frederick Potter's agency was founded in London in 1897 and became a limited company in 1909. Its first home was Temple House, Strand, and later Imperial House, Kingsway. It specialised in prestige products, private schools, fountain pens and sports cars among others.

Scope
A distinctive collection which gives an especially good picture of a London agency in the early twentieth century with, for example, day books with instructions and announcements from the Directors (1926-1975) and photographs of offices, post room and staff. There are also World Wide Publicity brochures (1911, 1916, 1922, 1924) with Potter advertisements for various clients, illustrations for greetings cards and social events, and copies of publications and journals such as Advertisers Weekly (1957, 1967) and World's Press News (1942) featuring Potter's and other topical concerns.
