History
1928-, London, Manchester, Birmingham, Dublin etc
In 1924 George Royds moved from Manchester to London as Manager of Osborne Peacock and in 1926 Osborne Royds was formed. G S Royds was established in 1928.
The Royds Group consisted of several companies at different periods, in various cities of the UK and Ireland, including Royds (London) Ltd, Royds Recruitment, Irish International, Royds Wales, Royds South West, Southcombe Advertising, Euro Advertising, Mechanical Men Ltd, Arlington Direct Mail, Durden-Smith Creasy etc. In 1979 RAG merged with Extel Advertising & PR Ltd. This was followed by a merger with McCann-Erickson in 1986 to become the second biggest UK agency at that time, after Saatchi & Saatchi.

Scope: The Royds corporate archive includes articles of association (from 1956) of companies in, or associated with, the Royds Group, accounts, pension plans, minutes, reports, correspondence and files on associated companies and mergers. The Royds advertising collection includes printed proofs and artwork for over 50 well-known brands. One section includes TV stills and storyboards for various Beecham's products.
