Biography
"L W Blundell, associate art director of Charles F Higham has been elected to the board.
Mr Blundell joined the Higham creative team in 1936, after three years as studio manager to Zec Studios. Earlier he was with Arks Publicity.
While working with the War Office Mr Blundell was commissioned to design and construct a model information room which was standardised for all Army units."

Scope/Formats
Comprises artwork and proofs produced by, or under Blundell’s direction, from the age of 18 years onwards at different agencies. The Charles Higham period is the largest section with an important Dunlop Rubber Co Ltd (1937) collection. There is also material for Bass, Ratcliffe & Gretton Ltd (1938-1946), The Gramophone Co Ltd/HMV (1937plus), “Bread for Energy” (1938), Hillman Motor Car Co Ltd (1939 plus), Ministry of Agriculture & Fisheries (mainly WWII, including “Plough Now” campaign), Sobell Industries Ltd (1947 plus) and COI/General Post Office (1963-1968). Work from his earlier career includes Pickering’s Lifts (1928) Sunbeam Wolsey Ltd (1929), Medland (1929), Canadian Pacific Line (1931) and the Southern Railway (1933).
The collection also contains some correspondence, photographs of Blundell at work and other biographical ephemera.
