The Baked Bean Museum of Excellence Collection comes to HAT

HAT and their archive client KraftHeinz were delighted to be able to offer a new home to Heinz related material from the Baked Bean Museum of Excellence when it unfortunately had to close in early June 2023.

Captain Beany, the Museum’s Curator and driving force behind the collection, got in touch with HAT when he had to downsize from his current flat in Port Talbot where the popular exhibit had been housed and on public display since 2009.

The unique haricot-based collection will form part of the extensive Heinz UK Marketing Archive at HAT and features advertising, branded merchandise, postcards, classic tins, recipe books and novelties of all kinds from the early 20th century to the 2000s. The artefacts include bean themed shopping bags, fridge magnets, keyrings and homeware.

The material will be re-packaged, catalogued and photographed with the support of KraftHeinz. We are delighted to be able to preserve this fascinating and quirky collection which will undoubtedly be of great interest to researchers in the future.
