Admin History: The Reckitt account came to JWT in the 1930s. Reckitt and Sons Ltd (originally of Hull) joined with J.and J. Colman Ltd (of Norwich) in 1938 to form Reckitt and Colman Ltd. Reckitt and Sons Ltd ceased to be a trading company and became instead a holding company. Under this scheme the Reckitt shareholders gained the advantage of a wider basis for their trading interests, since a range of Colman, Keen Robinson and Farrow products were now included. The new business covered products from the household, food and pharmaceutical markets. See 'The History of Reckitt and Sons Limited' by Basil N. Reckitt (A. Brown and Sons, 1951) for company history (1840-1950).
