Admin History: L.Harris Limited of London, a fashion tailoring business, were manufacturers of the 'Harella' and 'Berkeley' clothing ranges. The business was founded by Lew Harris who began his career as an East End tailor. In 1951 the company name was changed to L.Harris (Harella) to identify more closely with its most well-known trade mark.
JWT acquired the L.Harris Limited account in 1949 (the previous advertising agents were Crawfords). JWT gave up the account, by mutual agreement, with effect from 1 January 1952 but continued to monitor the company's progress via press cuttings.
