Admin History: Born in 1925 and educated at City of London College, London School of Economics, Myra Maisie Marks (1925- ), known as Maisie Marks, was heavily involved in the UK advertising industry from 1950s-1980s, working for over 33 years at Harris Media & Marketing (HMM), and London Diary Publications.
She joined HMM in 1952 as a shorthand typist and worked her way up to Chair and Managing Director in 1976. She sold both companies as principal shareholder in 1985. Whilst in the industry she was also involved in many clubs including the Regent Advertising Club, Advertising Motor Club, Advertising Association of Croydon, Advertising Association, Publicity Club of London and was founder and chair of Adwomen. Maisie was also heavily involved with National Advertising Benevolent Society (NABS) for over 30 years and became chair in 1982. In 1985 she received an MBE for services to NABS and other social work.
