Description: Set up Yershon Media Management in Apr 1980, the world's first strategic Media Planning Agency. First client was Bird’s Eye followed by many others including Heinz, Seagram and Guinness. Helped The Football League negotiate the first live football matches on TV, Mar 1981. Set up Yershon Media Buying as a separate company in Nov 1982. Won Granada TV Rental as their first client of the new business followed by Coty perfumes, Olivetti, Guinness mail order and two start up businesses Direct Line and Next. Direct Line led by Peter Wood, now Sir Peter, had grown from a handful of employees occupying half a floor in Croydon, to a major force in the UK industry. Sold the two Yershon companies to TMDH Plc and joined their board in Aug 1988. Remained chairman of Yershon Media during a three year earn out period. TMDH sold to Aegis in May 1991. Joined board of Carat UK as a founder Director whilst remaining in other Yershon role as Chairman of Yershon Group. Left Aegis/Carat/Yershon to rejoin McCann Erickson as Media Director in May 1992.
